This NeuroStar TMS Therapy System looks like a dentist chair, but it is actually designed to cure depression. The patient sits in a chair as an electromagnetic coil pulses magnetic fields to the patient’s left prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain that regulates mood and stimulates neurons to make more mood-enhancing dopamine. Each treatment session lasts approximately 37 minutes. The NeuroStar TMS Therapy System will be the first TMS therapy to earn FDA approval.
