At some point we’ll probably just ingest our memory cards.
The much awaited LG Cookie Plus GS500 has finally hit Italy under the name of LG Velvet. The handset is now available in Italy via TIM for 179 Euro (about $242) with free of contract.
As mentioned before, the Velvet offers a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen display, a 3MP camera, an animated UI with widgets, a microSD car slot (up to 8GB), an MP3 player, an FM radio, 3G, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm headset jack and supports direct access to social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Flickr.
The GigaPan Epic Pro was the Gigapan we were waiting for it. It’s, well, professionally epic and capable of using nearly any DSLR camera/lens available thanks to its large magnesium chassis. 12 cores may sound impressive, but as rumored, it’s likely just two of the latest six-core i7s working in tandem. Actually, now that I think about it, that is pretty impressive. I can’t think of who would need such ridiculous power and multi-threading, but I know my friends in ultra-HD video and effects can’t get enough Hz. I don’t know if programs like After Effects and Final Cut are really using OpenCL much yet, but that could be a major boost as well. However, as Apple Insider notes, the 980X is not meant to be used in a dual configuration, which would necessitate two motherboards. But hey, who knows? Apple is loco. We know this.
