With the up and coming launch of the iPad in the US on April 3rd, Amazon have launched a Kindle app which will be specifically aimed at the iPad and other tablet devices.

The current Kindle app allows you to search more than 450,000 Kindle books, however the Kindle app for tablet devices will also include some new features.
If you already have a Kindle, then the Kindle tablet app will allow you to synchronise notes and details to with other Kindle apps or previously purchased books from your Kindle device.
Similar to the iPad user interface, Amazon’s Kindle tablet app has adopted the iPad’s seemless page-turn animation for a more real user experience, however for users who want a more simpler experience they can go back to the ‘Basic Reading’ mode.
A release date for the Kindle app for tablet device has still not been confirmed, however Amazon is said to be one of many companies working hard to ensure that the application is present on the iTunes store for the official iPad release date. We will just have to wait and see whether the Kindle app makes it in time for the apps store.
What do you think? Will the Kindle app be ready for the iPad release date? Will you be downloading the app onto your iPad if it does? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think…
